Faith in Angels

1. What It Means to Believe in Angels

Believing in angels means having full faith that Allah created special beings called angels from light. They are totally obedient to Him and never disobey. Unlike humans, they don’t eat, sleep, or have desires. They exist solely to serve Allah.

2. The Nature of Angels

Angels are pure beings. They don’t have egos, desires, or even gender. They don’t commit sins and never get tired. They constantly worship Allah, day and night, without ever stopping. Their nature is sacred and free from wrongdoing.

3. What Angels Do

Every angel has a specific task assigned by Allah. For example, Jibreel delivers revelations, Mika’il controls rain and sustenance, Israfeel blows the trumpet to signal the Day of Judgment, and ‘Azra’il is in charge of taking souls. Others record deeds or guard paradise and hell.

4. The Ten Angels We Must Know

There are countless angels, but Muslims are required to believe in at least ten specific angels whose names and roles are mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith. Knowing and believing in them is part of our faith.

5. Angel Jibreel (Gabriel)

Jibreel is the angel responsible for delivering revelations from Allah to the prophets. He brought down the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He played a vital role in spreading Allah’s messages to humanity.

6. Angel Mika’il (Michael)

Mika’il oversees the distribution of sustenance and controls natural elements like rain, wind, and vegetation. By Allah’s command, he helps maintain the balance of life on earth.

7. Angel Israfeel (Raphael)

Israfeel is in charge of blowing the trumpet at the end of time. The first blow will cause everything to die, and the second will bring everyone back to life for judgment. His task marks the beginning of the Day of Resurrection.

8. Angel ‘Azra’il (The Angel of Death)

‘Azra’il is the one who takes souls at the time of death. Whether it's a human, jinn, or animal—he carries out Allah’s command. For the faithful, the process is peaceful, but for wrongdoers, it can be painful.

9. Angels Munkar and Nakir

These two angels question people in the grave. They ask, “Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your prophet?” Only those who lived with true faith will be able to answer correctly in the afterlife.

10. Angels Raqib and Atid

Raqib and Atid are the angels who write down all our deeds. Raqib records the good deeds, while Atid records the bad ones. These records will be used on Judgment Day as evidence for or against us.

11. Angel Malik

Malik is the guardian of hell. He has a fierce appearance and never smiles. His duty is to guard the fire of hell and ensure that those who are punished stay where they belong.

12. Angel Ridwan

Ridwan is the angel in charge of paradise. He warmly welcomes the righteous and the faithful into heaven. Only those whom Allah is pleased with can enter, and Ridwan ensures it stays that way.

13. Faith in Angels Inspires Obedience

Believing in angels makes you more conscious of your actions. Knowing that everything is being recorded encourages you to stay away from sin and do what’s right. It helps build a strong sense of discipline and accountability.

14. The Wisdom Behind Believing in Angels

This belief helps you live a better life. It makes you aware that you're constantly being watched—not in a scary way, but in a way that keeps you grounded. It helps you stay focused, be responsible, and strengthen your spiritual connection to Allah.

15. A Key Part of Our Faith

Belief in angels is a core part of Islam. Without it, one’s faith isn’t complete. Understanding their roles helps us appreciate how perfectly Allah has organized everything, and it deepens our commitment to live as faithful Muslims.
