Faith in Allah
The First Pillar of Iman
1. Belief in Allah
This means believing that Allah is the one and only God, the only one worthy of worship, with no partners or equals.
2. Belief That Allah Exists
You don’t need to see Allah to believe in Him. Everything around us—the skies, the earth, nature, life itself—points to the existence of a Creator. The order and beauty in the world are proof that it didn’t just happen randomly.
3. Belief That Allah Is One (Tawheed)
One of the foundations of Islam is believing that Allah is One—He has no partners, no children, no equals. Nothing and no one should be worshipped besides Him. This belief is called “Tawheed,” and it's the core of true faith.
4. Knowing Allah’s Attributes
Allah has perfect qualities like being All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Most Merciful, and Completely Just. The more we understand these beautiful attributes, the deeper our love, respect, and trust in Allah become.
5. Allah Created Everything
Part of believing in Allah is accepting that He created absolutely everything—us, the earth, the animals, the stars—everything. Nothing exists without His will. Even the tiniest things are His creation.
6. Allah Controls Everything
Not only did Allah create the universe, but He also manages it. He gives life and death, provides for His creations, and decides what happens to whom and when. Nothing escapes His control or happens without His permission.
7. Worship Is Only for Allah
Since Allah is the only true God, He is the only one worthy of worship. All acts of devotion—like prayer, fasting, charity, and sacrifice—must be done for Him alone. Worshipping anyone or anything else is considered a serious sin.
8. Never Associate Partners with Allah
Believing in Allah means never treating anyone or anything like Him. Giving others a share of worship, love, or fear that belongs to Allah alone is called "shirk" (associating partners with God), and it’s the most serious sin in Islam.
9. Allah Knows What’s in Your Heart
Allah sees everything and hears everything—including what we think and feel. Even silent thoughts or emotions are known to Him. That’s why sincerity and purity of intention are so important when it comes to faith and worship.
10. Allah Is Just and Wise
Allah is never unfair. Everything He does has wisdom behind it, even when we don’t understand it. Hard times, tests, or challenges in life aren’t punishments—they’re opportunities for growth or part of a bigger plan.
11. Allah Sends Prophets to Guide Us
If Allah never sent messengers, people would never know how to worship or live the right way. So, out of His mercy, He sent prophets to teach us who He is and how He wants us to live. The final prophet is Muhammad (peace be upon him).
12. Allah Gave Us Holy Books
In addition to sending prophets, Allah also revealed scriptures like the Torah, Psalms, Gospel, and finally, the Qur’an. These books are divine guidance, not man-made. Muslims believe the Qur’an is the last and complete word of God.
13. Allah Loves the Righteous
When we believe in Allah, we try to live in a way that pleases Him. That means staying away from sin and doing good. Allah loves people who are mindful of Him and strive to do what’s right. That’s called being “God-conscious” or “taqwa.”
14. Allah Rewards and Judges Fairly
Believing in Allah means trusting that He’ll reward those who do good and hold accountable those who don’t. This belief gives meaning to everything we do. Life is a test, and we’ll be judged fairly in the next life.
15. Belief in Allah Brings Peace
When you truly believe in Allah, it brings peace to your heart. You know He’s always with you, listening to your prayers, guiding your path, and never leaving you alone. That inner calm and trust—that’s the real power of faith.
