🕌 What is Wudu?

Wudu (ablution) is the act of purifying oneself from minor ritual impurity using water on specific body parts, as a requirement before performing prayer and certain acts of worship.

🌿 Intention (Niyyah) for Wudu

Ruling: Obligatory (Pillar of Wudu). The intention must be made in the heart at the same time as washing the face for the first time.

Translation: "I intend to perform wudu to remove minor impurity, as a fardh (obligation) for the sake of Allah."

✅ Step-by-Step Wudu According to Sunnah and Shafi'i School

1. Say Bismillah: "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim"
2. Wash both hands up to the wrists (3x)
3. Rinse the mouth (madmadah) (3x)
4. Sniff water into the nose (istinshaq) (3x)
5. Blow water out of the nose (istinsar) (3x)
6. Wash the face (from forehead to chin, and ear to ear)
7. Wash both arms up to and including the elbows (right first)
8. Wipe a portion of the head
9. Wipe both ears (inner and outer)
10. Wash both feet up to and including the ankles (right first)
11. Follow the correct sequence (tartib)

🌟 Sunnah Acts of Wudu

• Saying Bismillah

• Using little water (not wasting)
• Facing the qiblah
• Remaining silent during wudu

🤲 Du'a After Wudu

Translation: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah, make me among those who repent often and among those who purify themselves."

⚠️ Things That Invalidate Wudu

• Anything that exits from the front or back private parts
• Losing consciousness (deep sleep, fainting, intoxication)
• Touching private parts with the bare palm
• Skin-to-skin contact between unrelated men and women (Shafi'i view)
• Touching the anus (some scholars' view)

📌 Important Notes

• Valid water for wudu: Pure and purifying (mutlaq water)
• Wudu is invalid if performed with:
  • Used water (musta'mal)
  • Impure (najis) water
  • Water altered by other substances that change its nature
