Wudu (ablution) is the act of purifying oneself from minor ritual impurity using water on specific body parts, as a requirement before performing prayer and certain acts of worship.

🌿 Intention (Niyyah) for Wudu

Ruling: Obligatory (Pillar of Wudu). The intention must be made in the heart at the same time as washing the face for the first time.

"Nawaitul wudu-a li raf'il hadathil asghari fardhan lillahi ta'ala."

Translation: "I intend to perform wudu to remove minor impurity, as a fardh (obligation) for the sake of Allah."

  1. Say Bismillah: "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim"
  2. Wash both hands up to the wrists (3x)
  3. Rinse the mouth (madmadah) (3x)
  4. Sniff water into the nose (istinshaq) (3x)
  5. Blow water out of the nose (istinsar) (3x)
  6. Wash the face (from forehead to chin, and ear to ear)
